EVENT SCHEDULE 
Competitor Check-In: Friday, June 16th, 5:00-8:00 p.m. (Franklin Room).

Competitor Meeting: Saturday, June 17th, 8:45 a.m. (Main Ballroom).

 

Prejudging: Saturday, June 17th, 10:00 a.m. (Main Ballroom).
 

Finals: Saturday, June 17th, 6:00 p.m. (Main Ballroom).

DEADLINES 

Registration: Online registration closes at 10:00 p.m. on June 14th. You may register at the check-in on Friday, June 16th.

​

Late Fee: Register by June 10th to avoid the $25 late fee (late fee deadline extended from June 3rd to June 10th).

 

Tickets: Online ticket ordering closes at noon on June 15th. After that time, tickets can be purchased at the door only. Note: Tickets will be $5 more at the door, so be sure to order before noon on June 15th!

NPC RULE CHANGES 

Online Registration: Competitors are now required to enter their current NPC membership number when registering online to compete in the event. 

 

Age Restriction: All competitors must be age 18 on or before the date of the event.

 

Crossover Fee: The crossover fee must be a minimum of $100 for all NPC national-qualifying events.

NPC NATIONAL QUALIFIER 

The NPC Mike Francois Classic is an NPC National Qualifier. 

​

ELIGIBILITY 
The NPC Mike Francois Classic is open to all competitors who are current members of the National Physique Committee (NPC) and have reached their 18th birthday on or before the date of the event. 

​

NPC MEMBERSHIP 

2023 NPC memberships are $150 and expire at the end of the calendar year. Memberships can be purchased in advance or at the Friday check-in. Note: The NPC is now requiring a current NPC membership for all online registrations. Therefore, if you will be registering online, be sure to purchase your NPC membership prior to proceeding to the online registration step.

Purchase At the Check-in:

If you register to compete by mail or at the Friday check-in, you will be able to purchase your NPC membership at the Friday check-in. For NPC cards purchased at the Friday check-in, accepted payment methods are cash or check. If you would like to pay by credit card, a QR Code will be available which will allow you to complete your membership application online at the Friday check-in. You would then present your email receipt to the NPC official. The NPC will not have a credit card reader at the event.  

 

All competitors should be prepared to present their current NPC membership card (or some form of documentation such as a receipt) to the NPC official at the Friday check-in.

RULES & REGULATIONS 

All rules and regulations are established by our sanctioning body, the National Physique Committee (NPC). Visit their web site at www.npcnewsonline.com and go to Rules for detailed information on rounds, scoring, presentation and suit requirements for each division.

Bodybuilding 

Men's Masters Bodybuilding (1 class)

• 35 years of age and older

Men's Novice Bodybuilding (1 class)

• Have never placed first in any Bodybuilding class in a prior NPC contest.

Men's Open Bodybuilding (7 classes)

• Bantamweight: 143¼ lbs and under

• Lightweight: Over 143¼ lbs up to and including 154¼ lbs

• Welterweight: Over 154¼ lbs up to and including 165¼ lbs

• Middleweight: Over 165¼ lbs up to and including 176¼ lbs

• Light Heavyweight: Over 176¼ lbs up to and including 198¼ lbs

• Heavyweight: Over 198¼ lbs up to and including 225¼ lbs

• Super Heavyweight: Over 225¼ lbs

Bikini 

True Novice Bikini (1 class) 

• Have never competed in any Bikini division in a prior NPC contest.

Masters Bikini (1 class)

• 35 years of age and older

Novice Bikini (2 classes)

• Have never placed first in any Bikini class in a prior NPC contest.

• Class A: Up to and including 5'4"

ENTRY FEE 
$120.00 if entered online or postmarked by June 10, 2023. $25.00 late fee after June 10th (late fee deadline extended from June 3rd to June 10th). Add $100 for each additional division entering. Crossovers are permitted between all divisions. You can enter online via Muscleware (closes at 10:00 p.m. on June 14th) or print an Entry Form to enter by mail. You may also enter at the Friday check-in. If you already registered and want to add a class, you can do so at the Friday check-in or via your Muscleware account. Payment methods accepted for registration fees are cash, check and all major credit cards. Beginning in 2021, the NPC is requiring all online registrations to be processed through a company called Muscleware. You will be redirected to their site from our online registration links. Entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. 

 

FRIDAY CHECK-IN 
All competitors must check-in on Friday, June 16th between 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Franklin Room at the Marriott Columbus Northwest. Per NPC regulations, no Saturday check-ins will be allowed. Please note the following:

• Posing Suit: Bodybuilding, Classic Physique and Bikini competitors must wear their suit to the check-in. All other competitors need to bring their suit for inspection.

• Music: If you are competing in Bodybuilding, Women's Physique or Classic Physique, you must bring your music to the check-in (unless you uploaded it during online registration). For those crossing over between Men's Bodybuilding and Classic Physique, please bring music for each division (see Music section below for additional details).

 

MANDATORY MEETING 
The mandatory meeting for all competitors will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, June 17th at the Marriott Columbus Northwest in the main ballroom (Dublin III & Dublin IV Rooms). Please plan on arriving by 8:30 a.m. Prejudging will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m.

MUSIC 

All Bodybuilding, Women's Physique and Classic Physique competitors must provide their music by the close of the Friday check-in. You have 2 options: 1) If you pre-register online or by mail, you can upload your music through Muscleware no later than 10:00 p.m. June 14th (you will be emailed a link); or 2) You can bring a USB Flash Drive (preferred) or a CD to the Friday check-in. If you are crossing over between Men's Bodybuilding and Classic Physique, you must provide music for each division. Music may not exceed 60 seconds, no other music can be on the USB/CD, and vulgar lyrics are prohibited and will result in disqualification. The USB Flash Drive will be returned to you at the Friday check-in. CDs will be available for pick-up immediately after the contest (they will not be returned by mail).

POSING ROUTINES 

All Bodybuilding, Women's Physique and Classic Physique competitors will perform their routine at the Finals. If you are a Bodybuilder crossing over into another Bodybuilding division, you will pose once. If you are a Bodybuilder crossing over into Classic Physique, you will pose in both. Flips of any kind are not permitted.

TRAINER'S PASS 
The NPC allows competitors the opportunity to have their trainer backstage to assist them. The Trainer's Passes are $75 and are limited to one (1) per competitor. The Trainer's Pass only allows the trainer backstage to assist the competitor. If the trainer wants access to the ballroom to view the show, they must purchase a ticket. A Trainer's Pass can be purchased online (closes at noon on June 15th), by mail (print Order Form), at the Friday check-in or at the ticket booth the day of. Payment methods accepted are cash, check and all major credit cards. Pre-orders will not be mailed. The Trainer's Passes must be picked up at the check-in on Friday, June 16th or at the ticket booth on Saturday, June 17th. Per NPC regulations, any trainer backstage must be a current member of the NPC. All sales final.

PUMP UP AREA 
Per NPC regulations, weights and dumbbells are no longer allowed in the venue. Only exercise bands will be permitted. We will provide a limited number of bands. To ensure availability, we highly recommend you bring your own.

 

AWARDS 
1st through 5th places in each class will receive an award from Niels Andersen Sculptures. Every competitor will receive a goody bag!

 

TICKETS 
Prejudging tickets (General Admission) are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Finals tickets (General Admission) are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Children two and under admitted free. Seating is limited so be sure to order early to guarantee admission! Order online (closes at noon on June 15th) or print our Ticket Order Form to order by mail. Tickets will also be sold at the door pending availability. Payment methods accepted are cash, check and all major credit cards. Due to processing time, ticket orders postmarked or submitted online after June 3, 2023 will not be mailed and must be picked up at Will Call (ticket booth) at the venue the day of. All sales final.

Per NPC regulations, cameras are not allowed in the first 10 rows. There is no restriction on cell phone cameras. Pictures will be available for purchase from the official contest photographer.
